The kids ran to our favorite chicken coop at Strotz's Farm. I had called ahead to see if our production reds were available for pick up, so I already had a smile on my face. They were. The boys loved chickens. There is something about our chickens that make us smile. Even just talking about them brings us happiness. Watching them. Naming them. Its a real joy.

Hunter is a chicken trainer and its like a mini-circus made up of 2 goats and 10 chickens. Its fun to see my son have such a bond with an animal.

4 ladies went right into the brown box. Hunter shared his stories of chickens with the local farmer as he snagged them from their coop for us. They laughed together about how fun and entertaining they are. The rewards of the eggs and the love from their feathered friends.

 Box in lap Hunter started the list of names. Hot sauce needed to be replaced, I think her doppelganger may just be in that box. Jameson yelled out Taylor swift with a smile a million miles wide. hands in the air. I laughed at both my boys. 

We have a Tim McGraw (Frizzle Rooster) Faith Hill (White Silky) Black Betty (Black Silky) Big Red (Rooster) 2 white giants and now 4 production reds- 1 Hot Sauce and a Taylor Swift so far in that bunch. Names are so hard to do until we get to know them. I'll keep you updated.
