Who knew that a hike would turn into a frog hunting extravaganza!?

Today was something of an adventure. A special adventure. I knew that this hike would be a hard one. Peek-a-boo Lake is not a beginners hike. But, I knew that the light at the end of the tunnel would take away all of the struggle up that mountain side. And it did! We trooped together up up up and over. Holding hands at times, pulling the weak legs along. Laughing. Rolling on the ground. Catching our breath at a lonely fallen log.
Follow the leader went from a game to a war. Being in front felt like the trail became longer and harder. Out of sight...Out of mind I suppose. {insert laugh here} Somehow Mommy always ended up there....
We reached a quiet pond when the hills of hell ended. The exhaustion faded quickly as the frogs started jumping. Frog catching began! Off went the shoes, socks, and shorts! In went Hunter! The mud covered his legs and he grabbed frog after frog, shoving them in my empty espresso cut. The cup filled quickly. I laughed as the cup started to croak and burp with frog songs. Soon Hunter looked like Artax off of The Never Ending Story....the swamp of sadness started to suck him in. Laughter echoed through the pond as all of this funny-fun-fun unfolded. Naming frogs Rock biter and Falcore....oh-me-oh-my.
I am ever so grateful that our lives take such silly turns. Who knew that a hike would turn into a frog hunting extravaganza!? It did. 2 hours have never hopped so fast!
Getting to the top felt like it was as close as we could get to heaven without god letting us in. It was beautiful in every way.

He says he just cant make it! {Insert laugh here}
