A vacation for the soul
Ocean Shores, WA
It was a mini vacation for our souls! There is nothing like a spontaneous family trip to shake off the doom and gloom of these last couple months. Grey skies are not our favorite! So, we took advantage of the upcoming blue skies and headed over to the ocean.
I walked into the high school and checked Hunter out (I had picked Jameson up already) from 2nd period class. He came down with a dreaded look on his face that lit up the room with a smile once he saw me (not the wicked bully of a step Mother). I grabbed his hand and said we are getting out of this place. We are taking a vacation for our souls!

Ocean Shores was only a few hours away and in the Yukon (so much room compared to the Jetta!) there was plenty of our own space, to enjoy the ride.
FIRST, we hit the beach! Sunsets and playing in the sand is the very best feeling. Laughter and freedom was like a giant band aid for the doom and gloom - stuck inside- feeling we have had lately.
