It was a sunshiny day in Arlingtonville 4.23.2011
It was a sunshiny day in Arlingtonville. Hunters flag football was in play. He ran. Blocked. Threw. Even scored a touch-to-the-down. Hunter, running backwards, the ball was thrown... I prayed to god "Please let him catch that ball." Hands up. Ball caught. Hunter kept running back into the end zone. TOUCHDOWN! I yelled "Great job buddy!" over and over, jumping up and down. I am so proud. He is so proud. It was a great play indeed. He came off the field with a loss of only one touchdown, puffed up like a rooster. He told me how he had prayed too catch the ball. "Mom, I was inspired by my team to catch the ball. I didn't want to let them down."
Now...There is Jameson. Oblivious. Playing hot wheels on my blue lawn chair. I'm my shadow (keeping my lil ginger a lighter shade of pink). Funniest kid ever. Still 3, still not a care in the world.
Eric the coach and I laughed after the game, walking through the parking lot. We both had prayed to god. All of us had prayed to god that moment. Hunter made it happen. Eric told Hunter how well he did with a pat on the back. What a great game. What a beautiful Saturday.
God. I love my boys. Thank you.
