But today, today was that day

Today was a great day. It was a memory making kind of day. The first snow of the winter season. 2 short months shy of spring that is. We peeked out my bedroom curtain. There was a light dusting of snow. Just enough to cover the ground. The boys jumped around for joy. Kobe had spent the night and so the older two were plotting their snowball war tactics while Jameson and I talked about how fun it was going to be. Dressed for the cold they all ran down the stairs. I was the photographer. At this point we had ran to grab Brody and so now the two became three. Running from Jameson. Then reversing the game to chasing Jameson. It was so much fun to watch. The older ones surprised me with their patience with Jameson. It came and went. But it was still there. I released the boys from little brother duty and they proceeded to the woods with a baseball bat and Nerf guns. They were going to demolish stuff. And I’m sure they did.
We were ambushed by the 3 musketeers. I have never heard three boys scream like girls and run. But today, today was that day. Three screaming girls running from the the snowballs. Jameson giggled like crazy. I did too. Soon the snowballs flew at the windows. Laughing. Sticking our tongues out.
Fun is not overrated. A day for the books.
