It is hard work.

Today was another beautiful day, in the sunshine, on the farm. I looked around at the activity that was running the grounds. Pure happiness filled every inch of my soul. The fun that was being had is something that has been worked for, for years. This kind of joy is not instant. It is hard work. Setting up a life starts with a goal and is executed with a plan. And, it is something that you commit to because once you start this kind of life, a farm, there are many lives that depend on you.
Believe it or not, chickens want attention and lots of snacks. Goats are also an animal that will paw at you and follow you around until you finally give in for a good petting. When you raise your animals from small little "kids" into grown "adults" you create a bond. More or less it feels a lot like love, BUT, it's really all about food, attention, petting and cuddling (insert laugh here).
